Vettel was in a midfield car for ONE year in F1.
I think what Hamilton might be trying to get at is that he himself had a winning car for a few years but then had a bad car (2009), and kind of now has a bad car.
Whereas since Vettel was given a winning car, he hasn't really had to deal with a bad car. We saw a race or two last year where Vettel was spitting the dummy because his car wasn't fast enough but we haven't seen him lose a championship.
I believe losing will make Vettel a better driver in the future. It's just a matter of when it will happen.
