I was under the impression that the Merc test was done in hopes of making the tires safer for Canada. I was also under the impression that the data was for Pirelli's eyes only. Now it seems that I was wrong on both accounts.
I think most agreed that an improvement in tires was necessary. After this fiasco, the improvements are going to be under scrutiny and it will be a half hearted effort due to Pirelli having to tip toe around politics the rest of the way. All their own doing btw, I am not defending them by any means.
Thx for ruining the season Merc and Pirelli.
