@rob Yes, I understand it doesn't suit Newey but for some time now the engines have had frozen development and the only real variables have been to do with aero. And until the new toys were added (KERS, DRS) it had led to processions around the tracks. Next season there will be new engines for all and it is likely that one engine will be better than the others, until Nanny comes along and starts 'equalising' them. They don't equalise the aero though (mores a pity), by insisting on equal down force for all cars. The suggestion seems to be that the engine will play a more important role than at present and that sounds quite a good idea to me as it should mean the rise of the tuning engineers who currently have little to do. The cars may even start to look better as well instead of having these huge shovels with lots of twiddly aero junk at the front.
