Kiwi, might interest you, Stirling Moss the number two big name of the time at the 1958 Cuban GP. Honesty at its best, Fangio told his captors “you mustn’t take Stirling because he is on his honeymoon, he later admitted that he sympathised with his captors. Stirling Moss took the win after overtaking Masten Gregory under a red flag. Masten “now listen, I was in the lead all the time”. Moss, “look, keep quiet, we’ll pool our money together and then split it” and that’s exactly what we did. So officially I was the winner, why have an argument about it?.
