Elijah. and you think that Pirelli are happy to see delaminations as ot a safety issue? imagine driving at 200mph and have a tyre throw a tread? how are you going to make the next corner or even brake, with an exposed steel band on your remaining carcase?.
the tyres for this year were constructed to run with the steel bracing, and bonding of tread to carcase was problematic. Pirelli want to go back to the Kevlar banding as their bonding to that was ok. I guess that if they get the bonding to the steel perfected , then there would be no problem. montreal showed that the steel braced tyre can be ok, if properly bonded
