This statement/press release and or the write up/reporting continue to twist/push/pull all that was supposed to have happened. Pirelli say the tyre test with Mercedes was aimed to develop 2014 tyres, if that is the case Mercedes has gained a track time of three days and 1000km advantage on all the other teams and added to that is the lead time before the others can sample those tyres. If as is being said now the tyres were the intended new construction which were supposed to have been used in Canada Mercedes stole a march of 1000km of track time and the drivers gained exactly the same. Whatever Withing did he could not on his own and neither on behalf of the FIA sanction that test.
