@jamal- yes, Lewis did win two races in 2009 but he had a run of four races before the first win in Hungary where he finished no higher than 12th and he was out-qualified sometimes by Heiki Kovaleinen. The point is that no driver can turn a dog into a contender on talent alone.
@abdominalSnowman - Senna was among a group of drivers at that time who could do extraordinary things on their day. Maybe Senna had more days than some of the others but he wasn't head and shoulders above the rest as some claim. There are about 6-8 drivers in F1 at the moment who, if they were given the outright support that Senna enjoyed, and the right car, would win the WDC.
