107SS, Great commentary. Thanks for the info. But everyone needs to look into turbo-compounding. It IS the GEARING of a turbine to the CRANKSHAFT. It would be interesting if they will let them put power back into the crank via this "MGU-H" through a physical connection via gears/clutches/hydraulics. This MGU-H could act as an engine of own. I can see the potential for some seriously beneficial development with this MGU-H in terms of its relationship to road vehicles. Does anyone know what will be allowed and not allowed? Will it generate electricity only? Will it be allowed to put power back into the crankshaft directly? Will it do double duty act as an electric generator AND motor and help spool the turbo too? Maybe I need to read back over your response a little more carefully 107SS and you've already answered these questions. Just wanting a verification.
