Just had a thought ! When I first became an F1 fan the engines were generally below 400bhp until the legendary Ford DFV came out which developed 400. Now we are moaning because the new cars may only have 600 bhp. I don't know what the power to weight ratio is but it's still pretty phenominal and we maybe should be grateful for that, especially considering the fantastic aerodynamic improvements to today's cars.
