Argh... Richard - I never said they wouldn't feel different, I said the grip levels would be very similar. You were trying to tell me that the compounds were different for the test - it's in your post at the top of this very page - which is flat out wrong. Surely you're not saying that the difference between cross ply and radial tyres is comparable to the change in Pirelli F1 tyres from 2012 to 2013? There is a need to test them to confirm that they wont blow up all the time - that is what precipitated the change. The change in handling is incidental and is not the reason for the change in construction.
