Maybe too obvious, but more than 20 races would have a detrimental impact on the smaller teams budgets ... heck, probably even some of the bigger ones. LDM is always banging on about how they have to cut the runaway costs of F1. I'm sure I just read that Lotus is having financial issues, again, with a reported 120 million pound debt - though Lotus says it isn't real debt as 90 mill is from share holder loans ... regardless ... ouch. Not a great story whilst still trying to romance Kimi into staying on. More races equals more operating costs and that just doesn't seem to be an effective way of reducing expenditures.
