The FIA seems to be underestimating the engine mileage which for sure will be critical and so teams will avoid mileage on engines as much as possible. I remember the engine (Cosworth V8) reliability problems Benetton went through with Tom Wilkinshow advising that the only way to be able to finish a race was to keep mileage off the engine in practice.
