Alexander Sims picked up his first double points finish of the season with a brace of top-five finishes in the latest rounds of the F3 Euroseries at Oschersleben.
The 21-year-old Mücke Motorsport rookie picked up a solid fifth place finish in the opening race before going on to take third at the chequered flag in race two - only to later be officially classified fourth following the issuing of time penalties to 21 drivers in the field, a series record, during a yellow-flag period.
The double points saw Sims climb from tenth to eighth in the standings as he heads into the second half of the season.
“I'm very happy with the weekend as a whole, it's just a shame we missed out on the podium in Sunday's race,” he said. “It's good to score points from both races, I need to maintain that level of consistency now heading into the second half of the season. My aim of a top-six championship finish relies on solid weekend's like this one. Overall I'm happy to have moved up a couple of spots in the points standings, not least as I've been feeling pretty sick all weekend long with a cold!”
