Litespeed F3 has announced the addition of Indonesian A1GP racer Satrio Hermanto for two of the remaining rounds of the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series season.

The 25-year-old will make his British F3 debut in the next round of the season at Silverstone and has also agreed a deal that will see him contest the event in Portugal at the new Portimao circuit on the Algarve.

Hermanto will line-up alongside Victor Correa in a second National Class entry, running in Litespeed's own SLC chassis.

“We are delighted that Satrio will be racing with us for the next couple of weekends,” Steve Kenchington, director of engineering for Litespeed F3, said. “He complements the international aspect of our driver line-up: from South America - Victor Correa; Europe – Jay Bridger and now Satrio from the Far East.

“Throughout his career Satrio has shown natural skill, track awareness and technical understanding. On behalf of everyone at Litespeed I would like to welcome him to the team, to an exciting couple of weeks and a possible long term collaboration.”

Hermanto himself said he was pleased to get the chance to move into the British F3 arena.

“This is a new avenue for me and one that I am not only excited about but one that I relish,” he said. “British F3 has carved out the careers for Ayrton Senna and Mika Hakkinen, both of whom I respect and admire. All I need to do now is follow their success.”
