Renger van der Zande has hauled himself back into Formula 3 Euroseries title contention after an easy victory in front of his home crowd at Zandvoort.
His second win of the season, van der Zande made the most of a start line clash for front row sitters Niall Breen and Robert Wickens to assume the lead and never look back.
The result also means that the Prema Powerteam driver moves up to third in the overall standings after Edoardo Mortara and Nico Hulkenberg failed to get on the score sheet for the second race in a row.
With Breen on pole position after race one winner Hulkenberg was disqualified for being underweight, the Irishman attempted to hold onto it at all costs coming down into Tarzan, but his vigorous defence of the lead from Wickens simply saw him come across the Canadian's bows to spin into the pit wall.
Luckily, Breen avoided a more serious accident as his Manor Motorsport car, devoid of all its steering and brakes, slid across the grass and back onto the track at the first corner. Although missed by the chasing pack, both he and Wickens were out on the spot.
Their misfortune allowed third place starter van der Zande up into a lead he would not drop, the Dutchman gradually pulling out a margin over Yann Clairay over the course of the 26 laps to celebrate a win at the circuit he grew up racing around.
Three seconds further down the road, Clalray recorded his second podium of the season for SG Formula in what proved to be a very quiet second place.
Franck Mailleux, meanwhile, finished as the best of the Volkswagen drivers after a superb start from tenth saw him round the first corner in fourth before moving up to third when Jules Bianchi took a trip across the grass in the early stages of the race.
Jean-Karl Vernay and race one winner Mika Maki battled it out for fourth, with Maki getting ahead of the Frenchman on lap 13, only to make a mistake out of the final corner almost straight away and give the position back to Vernay.
