Double R announces Macau trio

Raikkonen Robertson Racing has announced that Formula Nippon racer Roberto Streit and local driver Michael Ho will join forces with Atte Mustonen to complete a three driver line-up for the latest running of the Macau Grand Prix.

The team has enjoyed success in the Chinese enclave in the past, having won the event back in 2006 with now GP2 racer Mike Conway, and will hope for better luck than it endured last year when it left the event without any silverware despite having arguably one of the strongest line-ups in the shape of F1 hopefuls Sebastien Buemi and Bruno Senna.

Unlike some of its rivals, Double R will benefit from a line-up of drivers who have contested the event before, with team leader Mustonen making his second appearance and Streit appearing for the third time. Meanwhile as a local ace, Ho has extensive experience of racing on the famed street circuit.

“By our high standards we're had somewhat of a disappointing year in F3 this season and are aiming to make amends for that in Macau, which is one of the most prestigious motor racing events in the world,” team principal Anthony Hieatt said. “We've always been very strong at Macau and there's no reason why we shouldn't be the top British team this year.

“We're aiming to qualify in the top five and finish on the podium, which I think is a realistic ambition considering our driver line-up.”
