West-Tec to enter British F3

Team West-Tec has revealed that it will make a move into the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series for the first time in 2009.

The team, which has firmly established itself as one of the leading outfits in the Spanish F3 championship in recent years will enter into a new partnership for the season ahead which will see it run Mygale chassis' with a Mugen-Honda engine.

While not the chassis of choice for the majority of the British field, the Mygale has steadily improved during the past two seasons and took its first win in the series last year with Ultimate Motorsport and Michael Devaney.

No drivers have yet been announced for the programme, but are due to be revealed in due course.

“I am delighted that we have been able to announce this programme,” team founder and principal Gavin Wills said. “I think the Mygale chassis showed real potential last year, and I am excited to be able to work so closely with a chassis manufacturer.

“The Mugen-Honda engines that Neil Brown will supply us are, I believe, as least as strong as anything out there and we have a great relationship with them too, built up over a number of years.”
