Manor Motorsport has announced the addition of Roberto Merhi to its driver line-up for the 2009 F3 Euroseries season.
The 17-year-old Spaniard, part of the Mercedes Benz Junior Development Progamme, joins Brazilian racers Cesar Ramos and Pedro Nunes in the Manor line-up as the team looks to launch its bid for championship success during the season ahead.
“Roberto's signing is fantastic news for Manor,” team boss John Booth said. “To have three drivers confirmed with well over two months still go until the start of the new F3 Euroseries season is very pleasing.
“Roberto is held in very high regard. To have won races in Eurocup Formula Renault and Spanish F3 last year proves his pace and his talent.”
Merhi spend last season in the Formula Renault West European Cup, taking three wins en-route to second place in the standings, and also in Eurocup Formula Renault where two wins helped him to finish fourth overall.
As well as a selected programme in Spanish F3, Merhi also competed in the F3 Masters event at Zolder and at Macau, both with British F3 outfit Hitech.
