Grubmuller takes pole for second Oulton race

Walter Grubmuller took his maiden pole position in the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series at Oulton Park to secure top spot for Hitech Racing.

Running in the lone car for the former champions this season, Grubmuller posted a quickest time of 1min 27.921secs – the quickest time of the day – to finish ahead of Carlin's Daniel Ricciardo, who had earlier qualified second on the grid for the opening race of the weekend.

Riki Christodoulou was third fastest for Fortec ahead of Nick Tandy, while race one pole sitter Max Chilton edged out Carlos Huertas for fifth on the grid.

Huertas' Double R team-mate Daisuke Nakajima was seventh ahead of Henry Arundel, with Hywel Lloyd and Oli Oakes completing the top ten.

In the National Class, Gabriel Dias secured top sport for T-Sport in 15th place overall, less than a tenth of a second ahead of Daniel McKenzie who had earlier paced the opening session.

Max Snegirev was third, with Victor Correa fourth – the latter being the only person not to post a time during the session.
