Kolles & Heinz withdraws from Masters

The new Kolles & Heinz Union team has elected to withdraw its entry for the upcoming F3 Masters event at Zandvoort.

The team, led by former Spyker F1 team boss Colin Kolles, has taken the decision not to take part in the event in order to focus on its campaign in the F3 Euroseries.

Having started the season running Carlo van Dam and Robert Wickens at Hockenheim, the team was forced to bring in rookie Johan Jokinen for the second round at Lausitz due to Wicken's clashing Formula 2 commitments.

However, results so far have been disappointing for the Volkswagen-powered outfit, which has now taken the decision to miss the Masters to focus on the next round of the Euroseries at the Norisring at the end of the month.

“Obviously I would have loved to compete in the Masters of F3,” van Dam said, “but I will not be racing at Zandvoort now that the team has withdrawn its entry in order to improve the car.”
