Tandy excluded from from race one.

Nick Tandy has lost the eighth place that was initially his after the opening race of the Cooper Tyres British F3 International Series' 'awayday' race at Hockenheim on Saturday.

The JTR Mygale driver was excluded from the results post-race for a technical infringement, after tyre debris thrown up from the track was found to have lodged in the air restrictor of his Mercedes-powered machine, causing damage that, it was decided, could have potentially enhancing the car's performance.

Tandy's exclusion promoted Wayne Boyd to eighth, with Victor Garcia and Hywel Lloyd completing the top ten.

Sorry to disagree, but you're both completely wrong - and I'm a big JTR fan. It's a black and white rule that if the airbox is damaged in any way so that more than the permitted amount of air is reaching the engine, the car has to be disqualified. The team knew that and accepted the penalty without argument and I suggest we should do the same. Just one of those unfortunate things.
