Hitech had taken a fifth straight pole in qualifying for race one thanks to Renger van der Zande, but it was Carlin's Australian ace Ricciardo who emerged quickest in the second session with a best time of 1min 02.066secs. Hitech pairing van der Zande and Walter Grubmuller will share the second row of the grid ahead of Max Chilton and Carlos Huertas, with Daisuke Nakajima, Henry Arundel, Wayne Boyd and Jay Bridger rounding out the top ten.
Gabriel Dias was quickest of the National Class runners again with the twelfth quickest time, one place and less than a tenth of a second ahead of Daniel McKenzie.
