First pole for Buzaid at Spa

Adriano Buzaid has claimed his maiden Cooper Tires British F3 pole position after mastering a wet Spa-Francorchamps in qualifying for the second race of the weekend.

The T-Sport driver, fresh from a podium last weekend at Donington, posted a quickest time of 2min 37.214secs at the wheel of his Dallara-Volkswagen to become the seventh different pole winner this season ahead of the visiting ART pairing Valtteri Bottas and Jules Bianchi.

"I wanted to go quicker towards the end of the session, but there were yellow flags and I did not dare to,” he said. “I was so worried that someone would get a better lap in, but in the end everything worked out brilliantly."

Points leader Daniel Ricciardo starts fourth ahead of Donington winner Wayne Boyd, who bounced back from his accident in first qualifying on Thursday to post the fifth quickest time. Renger van de Zande was sixth ahead of Carlos Huertas – with the Colombian going off and lightly damaging his car – while Riki Christodoulou, Henry Arundel and Esteban Gutierrez rounded out the top ten.

Daniel McKenzie took the National Class pole ahead of Gabriel Dias, while National Class runner Max Snegirev was the only driver not to set a time due to damage sustained in first qualifying.
