West-Tec adds second car

Team West-Tec has announced that it will expand to a two-car entry for the Silverstone rounds of of the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series.

Young Italian driver Michele Faccin will join the team in a second Dallara-Honda for the event, with the car – the one used last season by Carlin's Andy Meyrick - currently being built up by the team ahead of the race weekend.

Faccin will renew his rivalry with National Class runners Daniel McKenzie and Gabriel Dias having raced against the pair in the 2008 Formula Renault Eurocup and said he was looking forward to his British F3 bow.

“I know the people behind Team West-Tec well and I know they do a really good job at engineering a fast car so I am really looking forward to it,” he said. “I won't have much chance to try the car before the actual race meeting but I am looking forward to racing at Silverstone where I have enjoyed racing in the past.”

Team co-principal John Miller was quick to welcome Faccin into the team, stating that he expected the youngster to quickly get up to speed.

“I am delighted to welcome Miky to the team,” he said. “He is a fast driver who should do well. Clearly he hasn't got the British F3 experience of McKenzie and Dias but I am sure he won't take long to get to their pace, and hopefully beyond!”
