Carlin reveals Macau line-up

Carlin names Daniel Ricciardo, Henry Arundel, Max Chilton and Brendon Hartley for the end of season Macau GP
British F3 champions Carlin Motorsport have named the four drivers it will take to the end of season Macau Grand Prix.

F3 Euro Series racer Brendon Hartley - who finished on the podium in Macau last season – will be joined by British F3 title winner Daniel Ricciardo and fellow British runners Max Chilton and Henry Arundel for the event, which will see Carlin quartet looking

While Chilton has also raced at Macau in the past, both Arundel and Ricciardo will be debuting in the end of season event this year and the defending British champion said he was prepared for the challenge.

“I'm really excited to be going to Macau this year; I've never raced on a street circuit before, so it's going to be a really new experience,” he said. “I don't suppose there's anywhere better to learn about street circuits that Macau!

“As an event, the Macau Grand Prix is something I've always looked up, its something I've always wanted to do. I'm really happy to be going there with Carlin; we'll be aiming to continue the success we had in British F3 this year. With a good relationship already in place we can start pushing to be at the front from the very first day of running.”

Team principal Trevor Carlin said he was confident that his drivers will be on the pace for the end of season spectacular, although he admitted that there would be some luck involved.

“Macau is the climax of our season and the highlight of the year for both teams and drivers alike,” he said. “It really is a level playing field for F3 teams from around the world and probably one of the most challenging races in any driver's career.

“We've got a great team this year, the experience of Brendon and Max around Macau will help the team while I expect both Daniel and Henry to get to grips with the track fairly quickly. There's always an element of luck involved in a successful outing at Macau, but I genuinely believe we have more than one chance to win with our driver line-up.”
