JD Motorsports has confirmed that it will enter the Italian F3 Championship in 2010.
The team, which has most recently run in Formula Master, will field two Mygale cars in the series alongside an entry in the new Formula Abarth Championship.
“The decision to enter into these two championships represents an exciting new challenge for us that we will deal with with the high professionalism we have had for 14 racing years,” team principal Roberto Cavallari said. “In F3, a new collaboration for the team will begin because our choice has been to work with Mygale.
“Mygale had very good results in 2009 in its first year in Italian F3 and we think the car has a lot of development potential. Mygale has also shown a lot of interest in working closely [with a team] to get important results.”
Meanwhile, rival team Lucidi Motors has confirmed a deal with Stephane Richelmi for the 2010 season.
The 19-year-old made his debut in the series last season and finished sixth in the standings while also running in the British F3 International Series.
“Team Lucidi Motors does not need presentations in Formula 3 and this agreement represents an important opportunity for my career,” the Monegasque driver said. “In 2010, I will aim at the title but I will also be learning quite a lot from a team that has launched the career of several drivers and that has top class knowledge.”
