Virgin Racing F1 test driver Luiz Razia is to join the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series for this weekend's race meeting at Silverstone.
Razia will join Team West-Tec as the team makes its seasonal bow, with the Brazilian set to take the fight to T-Sport duo James Cole and Menasheh Idafar in the National Class.
The deal is currently for the Silverstone race weekend only to give the GP2 race winner the chance to learn the new Arena circuit.
"It's purely a one-off race outing at the moment, although Luiz has a continuing test programme with us,” West-Tec team boss John Miller said. “He is taking the opportunity to learn the new Silverstone Arena circuit.
"The car was competitive at Silverstone in the recent test [when it was driven by Swede Marcus Ericsson] and we think Luiz ought to go well. Hopefully we will see the car out on a regular basis with another driver soon."
Razia will be one of six new additions to the grid compared to the season opener at Oulton Park, with Kevin Chen joining the Sino Vision Racing team and Rio Haryanto making his debut for CF Racing with Manor.
Leading F3 Euroseries team ART will also enter three cars in the Invitational Class, including one for Briton Alex Sims.
