Gustavo Menezes put pen to paper to race for British team Carlin in the 2015 Formula 3 European Championship and called the team 'perfect' to help him achieve his goals.

The 20-year-old American will take part in his second season in the series after he finished 11th in the drivers' championship this year with Team Van Amersfoort Racing. The driver, who has Brazilian heritage, recorded some impressive results in this season's F3 Euro championship, most notably two third place finishes at Spa-Francorchamps.

Menezes explained his goal for 2015 was to win as many races as possible to climb up the championship ladders.

"It's my dream to race in Formula 1, DTM, IndyCars or sports-car racing some day," Menezes said. "The more races you win in the young-gun series, the faster you will make it up to the top category. Carlin is providing me perfect conditions for achieving this goal and I will try as hard as I can and give my very best."

Carlin Team Principal, Trevor Carlin, is certain Menezes will bring success to his team after watching the 20-year-old this season.

"We have been watching Gustavo for quite a while now and we are convinced that he has got a lot of potential," Carlin said. "I'm sure that we will be able to jointly secure many decent results."
