European Formula 3 rookie Charles Leclerc topped the timesheets on a wet testing day in Valencia.

The Van Amersfoort Racing driver, who finished third on the combined times on the first day of testing in Spain, took control of day two in the morning on the damp track by setting a quick lap seventh-tenths faster than the rest of the pack.

The Monegasque also set consistent top times in the afternoon while his team-mates Arjun Maini and Alessio Lorandi also spent time at the top of the timesheet.

With a slow-drying track teams were eventually able to run with slick tyres and Leclerc's final lap saw him go half a second clear of the rest of the field.

Carlin were able to achieve a 2-3-4 during the afternoon session thanks to its three drivers George Russell taking second spot ahead of fellow Briton Callum Ilott and American Gustavo Menezes.

Lotus F1 junior Alexander Albon grabbed fifth place in the afternoon in his Signature car while Tuesday's timesheet-topper Antonio Giovinazzi finished sixth. Maximilian Gunther, Sean Gelael, Santino Ferrucci and Fabian Schiller completed the top ten.

The European F3 teams will return to their respective bases in preparation for the second official pre-season test which will be held in Silverstone on the 7-8 April. The season commences at the same venue on the 10-12 April.
