Antonio Gionvinazzi has claimed his first pole position of the season for race one in the FIA European Formula 3 championship at Zandvoort.
The Jagonya Ayam with Carlin driver set his quickest lap of qualifying in the opening stages which remained unbeaten until the chequered flag fell on Q1 to hand the Euro F3 race winner his maiden pole position of 2015. The Italian driver eventually took P1 by under a tenth of a second from Prema Powerteam's Felix Rosenqvist who was held up by traffic on his hot lap.
German F3 champion Markus Pommer took an impressive third place for Motopark to bump British driver Jake Dennis down to fourth, while Euro F3 championship leader Charles Leclerc rounded out the top five.
Nabil Jeffri claimed his best qualifying performance of the season to grab sixth on the grid for race one to nip ahead of Ferrari junior driver Lance Stroll and Thai driver Alexander Albon. George Russell and Mikkel Jensen completed the top ten qualifying spots.
