Monza and an unspecified round in Great Britain have returned to the FIA European Formula 3 race calendar for 2017, with Imola and Paul Ricard making way.

Monza was dropped from the Euro F3 calendar this year amid fears of safety having witnessed a number of high-profile accidents at the Italian track in 2015 which got so serious race direction had to cancel the third and final race of that round.

Since then Monza has undergone extensive renovations to its opening chicane section and as a result returns to the Euro F3 calendar to host the second round of the 2017 campaign.

A British round also makes a return next season after dropping off in 2016 while a date and location is yet to be confirmed.

In 2015, the Euro F3 grid joined up with the the FIA World Endurance Championship at Silverstone in early April and is expected to play a similar role alongside the Formula V8 3.5 Series and WEC at the British track.

2016 Euro F3 champion Lance Stroll graduates up to Formula One with Williams as Felipe Massa's replacement next season.
