18-year-old Jehan Daruvala has become the second driver named in Carlin's ranks for the 2017 FIA European Formula 3 championship.
The Indian driver will graduate from Formula Renault 2.0 racing to move into Euro F3, while he has also already confirmied a second Toyota Racing Series campaign in 2017 after finishing runner-up to BRDC McLaren award winner Lando Norris last year.
Daruvala rose to prominence after becoming one of three winners of Force India's 'One in a Billion' driver competition and is a member of the F1 team's driver academy.
With a useful bank of single seater racing experience to rely upon, Daruvala is relishing the challenge of his rookie Euro F3 season with Carlin.
“My first two years in single seaters have been a fantastic learning experience,” Daruvala said. “After finishing in the top five in the Formula Renault NEC in 2015 and 2016, and having finished 2nd in the Toyota Racing Series this year, I am confident of stepping up to the highly competitive FIA F3 European Championship.
“I really enjoy driving the Formula 3 car, as I feel that the high downforce seems to suit my driving style. I am happy with how testing has been so far and I am really looking forward to my first season of Formula 3.
“It has been great working with Carlin and they are one of the best in the business. I must also thank Sahara Force India for all their vital support.”
Daruvala joins Ferdinand Habsburg at Carlin for the 2017 Euro F3 championship.
