Team West-Tec has announced the signing of Norwegian driver Christian Ebbesvik for its assault on the 2007 Spanish F3 Championship.
The 23-year-old, who has spent the last two seasons racing in the British Formula Ford series with Team JLR, joins Isa-Ro Charlez in committing to the new team, which will be making its debut in the championship this season.
“We have watched Christian progress over the last two years and have been impressed,” managing director John Miller said. “He comes to us very highly recommended by Team JLR. With the pre-season testing programme that we have in place, I am sure that Christian will impress with his pace in 2007.
“The experience he will get this year will stand him in good stead for his future career in 2008, whether that is on the continent again or even back in British Formula Three with Team West-Tec.”
Ebbesvik himself was delighted with the deal.
“I think the time is right for me to graduate to race in Formula Three,” he said. “I have had a great time in Formula Ford, and have learned a lot, but now I need to progress. The Spanish Formula Three championship is exciting as it is very competitive as well as providing a lot of mileage and experience.”
