Euro: Dillmann dropped by Red Bull.

Tom Dillmann has become the second driver this season to be dropped from the Red Bull Junior scheme after he failed to make the 'necessary improvements during training and racing this year'.

The Formula 3 Euroseries driver has been enlisted in the Red Bull scheme for two years, an opportunity that allowed him to race for champions ASM (now ART) in his rookie season and score three podiums.

Switching to newcomers SG Formula for 2008, Dillmann has not matched those heights this year, failing to finish three of the first six races and being unable to get into the points.

The Red Bull statement merely read:

“French driver Tom Dillmann is leaving Team SG Formula after six races of the season. He has not been able to make the necessary improvements in training or racing this year.”

The 19-year-old Frenchman is the second driver to be dropped from the scheme, which includes Robert Wickens, Mika Maki and Brendon Hartley, after fellow F3 Euroseries racer Stefano Coletti was dropped last month.
