Euro: Oshima scores maiden win.

Kazuya Oshima has claimed Manor Motorsport's first Formula 3 Euroseries win of the season with a formidable lights-to-flag victory in the reverse grid race in Barcelona.

Coming a day after Oshima scored his first points of the season, the reigning Japanese Formula 3 Champion made the most of his reverse grid pole position to get a good start and remain untroubled to the chequered flag.

A significant fillip for a team that has otherwise struggled this season, Oshima's cause was undoubtedly aided by a chaotic first couple of corners that eliminated several of the leading drivers.

As expected the funnel into turn one prompted plenty of action, with front row sitter Erik Janis out-braking himself and running wide, although that arguably prevented him from being caught up in the melee just behind.

With several cars going abreast into the tight right-hander, points leader Nico Hulkenberg jinked left, but managed to clip Dani Clos in the process, the Prema car being flipped up, but landing on its wheels.

Sam Bird, who finished second in the first race, had also been turned around in the tyre smoke, while Jon Lancaster was off course too. Just a corner later and Edoardo Mortara clipped Stefano Coletti, who in turn forced Franck Mailleux off, the trio all eventually having to retire, along with Hulkenberg, who had damaged his front-wing.

Their woes allowed Oshima into a comfortable early lead, ahead of Yann Clairay, Christian Vietoris, James Jakes and Jules Bianchi, the Frenchman remarkably climbing from 27th on the grid to be fifth after just three corners.

The race settled into a rhythm from here, with Oshima pulling a gap over Clairay, the SG Formula driver seemingly unable to find the pace that had him leading the majority of the first race.

Indeed, Vietoris spent several laps stalking Clairay, the Frenchman's unusual racing line into turn one often allowing the German an opening, albeit one never big enough for him to make a concerted attempt at passing. However, Clairay finally left the door open too wide on lap 18, allowing Vietoris to scamper through.

Bianchi, who passed Jakes when he out-braked himself at turn one, also battled his way past and up to third.
