Euro: Hulkenberg grabs win number seven.

Nico Hulkenberg made the most of his pole and converted it into his seventh win of the season on Saturday at the Hockenheimring, venue for the final two races in this year's Formula 3 Euroseries.

Hulkenberg, who secured the Euroseries crown earlier this month, also posted the fastest lap en-route to finishing 8.7 seconds up on Renger van der Zande, who provisionally took second.

"Yesterday's pole position was just awesome, I am really proud of that lap. In today's race, it went just as well," said Hulkenberg. "We have made up for what should already have been at Le Mans and we have shown here to everybody who is the champion."

van der Zande meanwhile was also pleased, although he may yet drop down to third, as Christian Vietoris crossed the line in second.

However, Vietoris was not classified after his car was found to be underweight in qualifying. He was subseqently disqualified, but with Mucke Motorsport appealing, he was allowed to start. Under the regulations though he doesn't show in the results.

"The last couple of races didn't go too well. Therefore, being on the podium again today is even nicer," noted van der Zande. "I still have chances to become runner-up. I will give everything on Sunday to achieve that. Spectators can look forward to a great race."

Mika Maki took the final place on the rostrum, 6 seconds or so off van der Zande and narrowly ahead of fellow rookie Stefano Coletti.

"Initially, I could make up some places until I was behind Renger van der Zande, who was too far away to attack him," said the Finn.

"Then I tried to keep Stefano Coletti behind me, which I managed. Now, I am only three points short of second place in the standings. Claiming runner-up spot is my goal for tomorrow's race."
