Euro: Vietoris takes second win

Christian Vietoris has picked up his second win in as many F3 Euroseries meetings at the Norisring after taking victory in the second race of the weekend.

Vietoris made the most of a collision between Sam Bird and Alex Sims to lie second before making his move on Roberto Mehri for the lead and was able to pull out an advantage he would hold to the flag, with Jean-Karl Vernay and Jules Bianchi also finding a way ahead of Mehri as the race wore on. Mika Maki also found a way ahead but was given a penalty after the race which dropped him down the order.

“I am happy with this victory and these important points,” Vietoris said. “However, it would be nice when we would soon be able to achieve this on Saturdays, too. Initially, I benefited from the collision of my two team-mates Alexander Sims and Sam Bird. Later on, it was important to pull a gap over Jean Karl and Jules, because the two of them were very quick.”

Atte Mustonen took fourth for the Motopark Academy team ahead of Tiago Geronimi, while Henkie Waldschmidt completed the top six.
