Jules Bianchi continued his F3 Euroseries winning streak, but comfortably defeating his rivals on the Nürburgring sprint circuit, coming home nearly 14 seconds clear of second place as ART Grand Prix filled the podium.

For the fifth time in a row, the Frenchman came out on top of an otherwise closely-fought event, extending his championship margin over Mucke Motorsport's Christian Vietoris to 28 points as he again lived up to his pre-season favourite status. Bianchi's ART team-mates Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Gutierrez completed the podium, with the German finishing a disappointed eighth in his home race.

It was only at the start that Bianchi found himself under pressure, as Bottas briefly appeared alongside him from third on the grid, but, after that, the Frenchman pulled clear to secure his sixth victory of the season.

“It wasn't that easy," Bianchi tried to insist, "I was pushing from the start to build up a margin over the drivers behind me. My car was fantastic once again and I am happy having won the race. Tomorrow, I will start from eighth place and I will try to score some points as, although my 28 points' lead in the drivers' standings is quite huge, there are still nine races to go. We have to keep on working like this, there is no time to relax.”

Bottas came home second for the fourth time this season, but admitted that he had nothing to offer in the way of opposition to his team-mate.

“I just didn't have a chance against Jules," the Finn lamented, "but, after all, I am still a rookie and have to learn quite a bit compared to Jules. Generally, I am happy with second place.”

Gutierrez, meanwhile, made it onto the podium for the first time in his F3 career, the Mexican delighted with his continued progress despite dropping a place from grid to flag.

“I am learning from one race to another," he confirmed, "In such a strong category like the F3 Euroseries, you not only have to be physically fit, and I am succeeding more and more in closing up to my team-mates. I must admit, however, that, today, I was a little bit nervous before my first start from the front row.”

Briton Sam Bird and Finn Mika Maki completed the top five, with Alex Sims taking second spot in the 'rookie' race in seventh overall.
