Jules Bianchi will finish the 2009 Formula 3 Euroseries season as the most successful title winner since Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton after cruising to his ninth win of the year at Hockenheim.

The Frenchman, who was crowned champion at the penultimate round of the season in Dijon, follows in the footsteps of former ART winners Hamilton, Paul di Resta, Romain Grosjean and Nico Hulkenberg, but only the McLaren F1 driver has won more races in a single season.

Winning the race from pole position, Bianchi, who will graduate to ART's GP2 Series team in 2010, was untroubled to the chequered flag to come home a comfortable seven second winner over team-mate Valtteri Bottas.

The Finnish rookie has stretched away in his quest to secure third in the championship standings over Alexander Sims, Bottas holding a five point advantage over the Briton with only a maximum of six remaining from race two.

Jean-Karl Vernay completed the podium after gaining third position at the expense of Manor's Roberto Merhi, the Brazilian running wide late on and gifting the spot to the Frenchman.

Mika Maki finished in fifth place after relieving Mucke's Sims of the position on the final lap, his sixth place finish handing the team title to 1-2 finishers ART in the process.

Marco Wittmann – scoring his first points of the year - and Henkie Waldscmidt rounded out the points' paying positions, the pair making up the reverse grid front row for the final round of the 2009 season.
