Rupert Svendsen-Cook has taken his first victory in the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series after taking honours in the second race of the weekend – the reverse grid 'sprint' race – at Oulton Park
Svendsen-Cook held third at the start behind Daisuke Nakajima and pole-sitter Gabriel Dias, but moved up to second when Dias was forced wide at Old Hall on lap two and suffered a spin. The Formula BMW graduate then set about challenging Nakajima for the lead and made his move down the inside at Old Hall on lap four.
Having secured the lead, Svendsen-Cook went on to take his first F3 victory ahead of Nakajima, with Carlos Huerstas securing the final place on the podium.
Carlin trio Adriano Buzaid, Jean-Eric Vergne and Jazeman Jaafar rounded out the top six, while Daniel McKenzie, Oli Webb, Will Buller and Alex Brundle completed the points scorers.
Vergne, winner of the opening race on Saturday, picked up two points for the fastest lap.
National Class honours went to Menasheh Idafar, with his only rival – and T-Sport team-mate – James Cole failing to finish.
