Michela Cerruti will bolster the female ranks of the inaugural FIA Formula E Championship after being confirmed as driving alongside former F1 driver Jarno Trulli in his eponymous team.

Fresh from her first AutoGP World Series victory over the weekend at Imola, the Italian racer becomes the second female racer to commit to the series following confirmation that Katherine Legge will compete with Amlin Aguri.

"I'm very pleased to join TrulliGP and I am very honoured to be part of the FIA Formula E Championship," she said. "I really do believe that this series can help attract people to use electric vehicles and help care for the future of the environment. I'm now looking forward to testing the car to start this new challenge."
