Lucas di Grassi will remain with the Abt Formula E team for the 2016/17 season, the German team has officially confirmed ahead of its home Berlin ePrix.

The Brazilian has established himself as a formidable contender in the all-electric series since its inaugural race in 2014, with the news of his deal putting aside rumours he was considering a move away from the Audi-affiliated Abt team.

The former F1 driver has won four races since Formula E's debut, not including the two wins he lost over technical irregularities, and is currently leading the 2015/16 Championship with just four rounds of the season remaining.

di Grassi looks set to continue dovetailing his Formula E commitments alongside a deal with the Audi World Endurance and Le Mans 24 Hours team.
