Vitaphone adds third car for Spa

Vitaphone Racing has announced that it will enter three cars into the blue riband event on the FIA GT Championship calendar, the upcoming Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Aside its two regular cars – both of which will have strong additions to the driver line-up – the team will run a third car under the banner of Vitaphone Racing Team (DHL) to be shared by Alessandro Pier Guidi, Stephane Lemerat, Vincent Vosse and Carl Rosenblad.

Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini will be joined in the #1 Maserati MC12 by Alex Negrao and Stephane Sarrazin, while the #2 car will see Alex Muller and Miguel Ramos joined by Pedro Lamy and five-time event winner Eric van de Poele.

"I am looking forward to this race, which is almost a home race for us, and one of my personal highlights of the year,” Vitaphone GmbH CEO Matthias Quinger said. “The one-two last year was very special."

Vitaphone has won the Ardennes marathon three times in the last four years, losing out on the hat-trick in 2007 by just 78 seconds.
