Scuderia Ecosse will hope to impress in the GT2 class as the FIA GT Championship heads to Spa this weekend for the annual 24 Hour race at the Ardennes circuit.
The team will field a single Ferrari 430 in the race with Italian racer Ferdinando Monfardini coming in to partner regular duo Jamie Davies and Fabio Babini for the weekend.
“The Total 24-hours of Spa is always a fantastic race and I'd like to thank Stewart Roden for the opportunity to join Fabio, Jamie and the team,” he said. “At the recent Vallelunga test I had the chance to work with all the guys at Scuderia Ecosse and came away with a very good feeling about our chances for this race.
“This will be my second 24-hour race at Spa, having raced there last year alongside Fabio and Jamie and I can honestly say the atmosphere is extraordinary.”
With double points on offer in the race thanks to the nature of the scoring involved, Davies admitted it would be vital for the team to secure a good result from the weekend.
“Spa is a very important race for the team and myself,” he said. “Being a 24-hour endurance race there are double points up for grabs. We must make sure we continue to work well as a team and try to achieve consistent lap times. Spa can usually throw up some tricky weather so we need to be alert and be prepared for some surprises along the way.
“I'm looking forward to the challenge, it's a big team event and that gives me confidence as we have a very close knit team at Scuderia Ecosse.”
