Apex Motorsport has announced that John Christie will take up the role of operations director for the 2009 season.
Christie, who has over 25 years of experience in motor sport – including management of the Nissan USA Lola in the 1990 Le Mans 24 Hours – will help over see the team's programme in the FIA GT3 European Championship, where the Jaguar XKR is tipped to be one of the cars to watch.
The former Embassy Racing team manager said he was confident of improving the potential of the XKR in the season ahead after getting chance to see the car in racing action in its first race of the year in Dubai.
“Having witnessed the on track performance of the Apex Jaguars, I'm keen to make some changes that will develop and enhance the car's capabilities,” he said. “I'm delighted to have the opportunity to work with the guys here at Apex, and am confident that together we can realise the XKR's potential successfully.”
