CRS reveals impressive Spa line-up

CRS Racing has announced an impressive driver line-up for the 2010 running of the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

The team will welcome in four new faces for the blue riband event on the FIA GT Championship calendar as it seeks to secure honours in the GT2 class.

The #56 Ferrari 430 in particular looks set to be amongst the front-runners for the event, with Andrew Kirkaldy and Rob Bell being joined at the wheel by Antonio Garcia and Peter Kox.

“There is no official test day at Spa this year so we need drivers who can jump straight into the car and be quick,” team director Andrew Kirkaldy said. “Antonio has lots of experience of the Ferrari from Team Modena and he has won the GT1 class at Le Mans for the last two years, so he fits the bill perfectly.

“Peter is a fantastic driver; we have tried to work with him before but he was busy so we're pleased he will be with us at Spa. I think between the four of us there is no reason not to expect a very good result.”

The sister car will see team principal Chris Niarchos and Tim Mullen joined by two of CRS' GT3 drivers, Phil Quaife and Chris Goodwin.

“Just like last year when we took James Sutton to Spa, we are pleased to give this opportunity to one of our GT3 drivers, Phil Quaife,” Niarchos said. “Phil has done a great job for the team so far this year; I know he is looking forward to sampling Spa in a GT2 Ferrari and I know he will be quick.

“Chris Goodwin was an obvious choice for me. He is a vastly experienced driver who is already part of the team. Together we are a strong team and we have every chance of a top result at Spa this year.”
