RL Racing announces return of Winter Training Camp
The RL Racing Department is once again offering its customers the Winter Training Camp at the Gran Karting Club circuit in the Canary Islands. It is a means of allowing drivers plenty of track time in ideal conditions to prepare for the following season.

Sixteen drivers signed up last year and RL Racing anticipates a similar number this year. As well as testing, RL is also considering introducing a workshop to teach drivers about public relations and presentation.

The camp was good preparation for Lando Norris, who won the FKS Mini Max championship at Nutts Corner, Northern Ireland earlier this month.

Two sessions are to held. One is scheduled for 8-22 December and the second is for 2-8 January.

RL Racing Department owner and team boss Steve Armstrong explained the camp's appeal: "It's a fantastic track, offering everything from fast straights to tricky hairpins and technical sections that ask questions of you. Inspired by how motor racing teams test abroad, to take advantage of the better weather, we introduced our Winter Testing programme in 2010 and it became an instant success. You only have to look at our results since to see how effective it is at getting our customers ready for the new season.

Everyone knows there is no substitute for it. On our last visit we were able to give our guys around 300 laps per day. In terms of learning about the art of kart driving and perfecting your technique that is an awesome amount of time. It is also unbeatable value for money. We can do all that because we are not subject to the weather. There are no cancelled sessions because of rain or snow.”
