Kubica: Renault R30 feels better each day

14 February 2010

Robert Kubica was 'very happy' with his Renault R30 following the final day of testing at Jerez on Saturday.

Kubica, who was fourth quickest, completed 85 tours in total, his best effort a 1 minute 20.358 seconds. He spent the day focusing on long runs and set-up work and while damp conditions limited running in the morning, the ex-BMW Sauber man was still pleased with his day's work.

"We were unlucky again with the weather this morning but it was dry in the afternoon and we managed to improve the car quite a bit," Kubica noted. "Each day of testing the car feels better and the progress we have made this week confirms that we are moving in the right direction."

Renault's chief engineer Alan Permane meanwhile also felt that it had been a productive day for the Regie.

"It was a slow start to the day as there was quite a bit of rain so we didn't do too much running in the morning. We did a few runs on wet tyres to check the car out and then waited for the track to dry," Permane added.

"As soon as the track was ready for slicks we went out and worked through a set-up programme and made really good progress. We've managed to improve the performance and the drivability, and Robert's finished the day very happy with things."
