Having been ousted from his drive with Williams in favour of Bruno Senna, Rubens Barrichello has confirmed that he will switch to the IndyCar Series in 2012 with KV Racing Technology.
Barrichello has already tested with the team in recent weeks and will now join up with fellow Brazilian Tony Kanaan and Venezuela's EJ Viso for the 2012 season ahead.
Barrichello's début in the series will come in the season opener in St Petersburg on 25 March, while he will take part in the full schedule – including the four oval races despite previously promising his wife that he would never race on an oval.
“I am thrilled,” Barrichello said. “It is something very new to me. I will start as a rookie, but I think it will get better as the year progressed.”Full story and more details
