19 June 2012

Red Bull Racing has revealed that the 'Faces for Charity' initiative it is running for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone has raised €1 million for good causes.

The team gave fans the chance to upload pictures of their faces to a special website which will then be painted onto the cars of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel for the British race.

With fans donating money to have their images on the cars, and with Red Bull matching every donation, the team has now confirmed that €1 million has been raised which will now fund cutting-edge research projects around the globe.

“Faces for Charity is going to make this year's race at Silverstone extra special,” team boss Christian Horner said. “It will be a privilege for the drivers and the team to race with thousands of fans by our sides. Most importantly, it will create a real buzz for Wings for Life and spread awareness about their vital work.”
